04

Complete Student Details First

Fill in all fields at the top of Page 1 before answering any questions.

Year K student details area
STOPMissing Student ID or Test Number means your score cannot be linked to you.
FIRSTComplete all details before answering any questions — even question 1.
CHECKDouble-check every digit in your Student ID — one wrong square changes your entire number.
CHECKAfter completing your details, continue to the question sections on the same page.
05

Marking Rules

Printed in the Instructions box at the top of your OMR sheet — follow every rule.

Rule 1

Black Pen Only

Your answer sheet states: Use black pen only. Pencil or coloured pens may not be detected correctly by the scanning machine.

Rule 2

One Answer Per Row

Fill only one square in each question row. Two filled squares in the same row can make that question unreadable.

Rule 3

Check the Subject Section

Before you mark, confirm that you are in the correct subject section for that question. This matters even more on multi-page answer sheets.

06

How to Mark an Answer

Based on the Instructions box printed at the top of your OMR sheet.

1

Find the correct question row

Look at the question number on your test booklet and find the matching row on the OMR sheet.

2

Identify your answer letter

Your answer will be one of the printed options in that row. English and English or Maths sections often use A–D, while some Maths rows may use A–E.

3

Fill the square completely

Use your black pen to fill the square solidly. A faint or partial mark may not register.

4

Confirm before moving on

Before the next question, confirm you are on the right row and that only one square is filled.

TIPSay to yourself: “Question 3 — answer D — I am on row 3 — I fill D.” Check row, then mark.
07

How to Change an Answer

Three situations — exactly as printed in the Instructions box on your OMR sheet.

Year K instructions box
Mark type reference
B
Filled square — your answer
B
X crossed out — no longer your answer
B
Circled — final answer (overrides cross-out)
NEVERLeave two filled squares in the same row — the machine cannot determine which you meant.
CARECross out with a clean X. Heavy scribbling can bleed into adjacent squares.
RULEX what you do not want. Circle what you do want. One clear final answer per row.
08

Common Mistakes to Avoid

The most frequent errors students make — be aware of them before the test begins.

Mistake 1

Forgetting to write your name

Your sheet cannot be identified without a Full Name at the top of Page 1.

Tip: Write your name first before answering.
Mistake 2

Skipping Student ID or Test Number

These digits link your sheet to your student record. A blank column means your score may not be allocated.

Tip: Check every digit carefully.
Mistake 3

Marking in the wrong subject section

A Maths answer in the English section will not count for Maths. Always read the section heading before marking.

Tip: Look at the section title first.
Mistake 4

Marking one row too high or low

Skipping a question and returning later makes it easy to slip a row. Confirm the row number every time.

Tip: Match the question number with the row number.
Mistake 5

Messy or unclear corrections

Heavy scribbling can leave the machine uncertain about your intended answer. Cross out neatly and circle clearly.

Tip: Keep your final answer clean and clear.
Mistake 6

Not reviewing before submitting

A final scan of the full sheet takes under a minute and can catch slipped rows, blanks, and unclear marks.

Tip: Do one last check before handing it in.
